It's Genius Hour time!!!! Tell me about your Genius Hour Inquiry Question. What did you gain out of this 20% time? What would you change for next time?
My genius hour is called Is Bacteria Really That Bad For You,I chose this topic because I really wanted to know how bacteria works if it's good or bad.
My question i did was "when was opera invented?" and I enjoyed making my model which was a bit hard to do but it was really fun even when I learnt that opera was invented five hundred years ago which is five centuries which was in the sixteenth century.I loved doing research and learning new things.I would change my presentation and do a prezi instead of a presentation.I think this Genius hour was great this term.
My genius hour Question is how did dinosaurs become extinct because I am really fascinated by how the dinosaurs died and why.That's why I chose the question. What i learned from genius hour is a sientist named Joseph sklovseky was the first man to consider that the extinction was due to a single Catastrophic event when a super nova (explosion of a dieing star) showered the earth in radiation that could have killed the dinosaurs.
If I could Change anything about my genius hour it would be my design and make.
My genius hour is called how are Crstals formed. I choese this question because I love Crystals and want to know more about them. Genius hour is cool!!!!
For genius hour I did how does solar power work . I learnt so much about it and for my model I made a house out of paddle pop sticks. It was pink and the roof was grey. On the roof there was 3 solar panels and a chimney. chose this topic because I didn't know much about solar power and I really wanted to know more about it.

My Genius Hour topic is who invented soccer?.It was really fun researching all the information and creating my model I hope we get to do it next term and next year.
I deeply enjoyed my genius hour which was "how did inventions revolutionise the world." It was challenging because I didn't have a clue but that's ok because I love learning new things about topics that I have absolutely no idea about. Since I had no idea, it was quite hard to understand so I read the facts over and over so I could properly understand my topic. This was so much fun to research because I found so many interesting facts and websites. Also, I found key facts about the telephone. That's what genius hour is about. LEARNING. I need to improve on my oral presentation and explaining my facts well.
Question: How to make Loom Band creations and what equipment do you need?
ReplyDeleteSome equipment you need is a loom, hook (metal/plastic), Mini loom, loom bands and also you can use a monster tail loom.
My favourite part of this Genius Hour project is creating the beautiful hard/easy creations and seeing how they come out after all of that work!!
I'm also writing my Genius hour on task cards to jog my memory.
So i hope you people will enjoy my Genius Hour and learn some stuff about Loom bands and their Creations. (:

ReplyDeleteI learnt that a pacemaker is a small device that is placed into your chest or abdomen to make your heart beat at a normal rate.
I also learnt the parts were you can have bionics. Some of the bionic parts are the human eye, the human ear and the human arms and legs.
My genius hour question is how was pac man invented and why. I enjoyed my model but i,m not finished.
